Access for visitors arriving by car

The Meeting House is located in central Cambridge at the corner of Jesus Lane and Park Street. See the car access map for routes from the M11, A10, A14, A428, A603 and A1307 and for car parking and bus stops referred to below. There is no parking space available at the Meeting House, and parking for periods longer than one hour is not possible on nearby streets during the day (8.30-18.30) from Monday to Saturday. There is a bay for Disabled Badge holders (with space for about 10 cars) opposite nos. 6-11 Jesus Lane (marked by the wheelchair sign on the car access map map). Other visitors are advised to choose among the options listed under Parking guidelines below. Details of each option (listed according to map number) are provided under Parking locations below. Visitors should note that parking regulations are rigorously enforced and they should be particularly careful not to park in bays signed as reserved for resident permit holders.

Parking locations

1b	Streets to the north of the river. These streets are fairly full with commuters' cars during the day, but it is normally possible to find a space. The Meeting House is 15-20 minutes' walk away. Walk from Pretoria Road/Aylestone Road junction via the footbridge, Midsummer Common, Jesus Green and Park Street. There is no long-term non-resident parking in the streets between Victoria Road and Chesterton Road.
G	Castle Hill car park. This is a ground-level car park in the Castle Park office development next to Shire Hall. The Meeting House is about 10 minutes' walk away via Castle Street and Magdalene Street. Parking charges (Monday to Saturday, 8.00 to 19.00) are: Up to 4 hours £3.40 More than 4 hours £6.80
Near G	Shire Hall car park. This is a large basement car park at the offices of Cambridgeshire County Council. It is available for public parking on Saturday only and is locked at 18.00. There is a flat-rate charge. The Meeting House is 10 minutes' walk away via Castle Street and Magdalene Street.
Park-and-Ride	Park free of charge at either the Madingley Road site (on A1303 about 0.5 km east of junction with M11) or the Newmarket Road site (on A1303 about 2 km west of junction with A14 east). The bus service operates at 10-minute intervals between 7.00 and 20.00 (15-minute intervals between 9.00 and 18.00 on Sundays) and the return fare is £2.60 (£2.30 if purchased from the machine before boarding). Journey time is about 5-10 minutes from Madingley Road or 20-25 minutes from Newmarket Road. Alight at the Bridge Street stop, which is about 3 minutes' walk from the Meeting House.
B	Park Street car park. This is a large multi-deck car park (lift available) about 2 minutes' walk from the Meeting House. The only approach to it is from the east via Jesus Lane and Park Street. The park is sometimes full on Saturdays in the late morning and early afternoon. Parking charges between 7.30 and 17.00, Monday to Friday (Saturday in parentheses) are: Up to 1 hour £1.70 (£1.80) Up to 3 hours £5.10 (£5.30) Up to 5 hours £15.00 (£15.50) Up to 2 hours £3.40 (£3.60) Up to 4 hours £8.40 (£8.80) More than 5 hours £21.00 (£21.00) On Sundays between 10.00 and 17.00, there is an hourly rate of £1.70. At all other times (early mornings, evenings and nights) there is an hourly rate of £0.60.
2	Nearby streets. It is sometimes possible to find a space in the evening and on a Sunday. The listed streets are 2-5 minutes' walk from the Meeting House. There is no charge after 18.30 nor on Sunday.
