Access for visitors arriving by rail, coach or bus

Arriving by rail

Cambridge is served by frequent non-stop trains from London King's Cross. There are also direct services from London Liverpool Street, Stansted Airport, Ipswich, Norwich, Peterborough, Leicester, Birmingham and further afield. Travellers from the North, Wales and Scotland can make connections at Birmingham, Leicester or Peterborough. The Meeting House is about 2 km (1.5 miles) from Cambridge rail station. Walking from the station to the Meeting House takes about 30 minutes, so either bus or taxi should be considered.

Bus from the rail station

Full information may be obtained from Traveline on 0870 6082608 (8 a.m to 8 p.m.).

Take Stagecoach Citi route C1 (towards Arbury) to Bridge Street or route C3 (towards Fison Road) to Emmanuel Street. Combined frequency of routes C1 and C3: daytime (Mon-Sat) every 5 minutes; evenings and Sundays every 15 minutes.

Then walk from Bridge Street (4-5 minutes) or Emmanuel Street (8-10 minutes) to the Meeting House. See map below.

Taxi from the rail station

Take a taxi from the rank at the rail station. Be sure to ask the driver for Friends Meeting House, Jesus Lane.

Arriving by coach or bus

Cambridge is served by frequent express coaches from London Victoria. There are also services from many other cities and towns and from London's airports. The Meeting House is about 800 m (0.5 mile) from the Cambridge coach stops (Parkside). Walking from these stops to the Meeting House takes 12-15 minutes.

The Meeting House is about 600 m (700 yards) from Cambridge bus station (Drummer Street). Walking from the bus station to the Meeting House takes 8-10 minutes (see bus access map). Alternatively, during the daytime (Monday to Saturday), take the free City Centre Shuttle bus (10 minutes frequency) from Emmanuel Street to Jesus Lane (within 50 metres of the Meeting House), or take a taxi from the rank in Drummer Street. Be sure to ask the driver for Friends Meeting House, Jesus Lane.
