Cambridge Quakers have for many years made their facilities at the Friends Meeting House, Jesus Lane available to community, voluntary and educational organisations for meetings, classes and other functions. Requests for lettings for a wide range of purposes can be considered. However, we do not allow use for commercial purposes, for ticketed events, or for parties or receptions. No smoking or consumption of alcoholic drinks is allowed. Copies of the Standard Terms and Conditions for lettings are available on request.

Rooms

Six rooms, ranging in capacity from 8 to 120 seated persons, are available for letting.

The main entrance doors are fitted with powered opening/closing units which are operated using wall-mounted push-pads. There are no steps to negotiate either to enter the Meeting House or when inside (with exception of access to the Caroline Stephen Room), and there is a lift to the upper floor. A wheelchair-accessible W.C. which meets all current guidelines is available on the ground floor. There is a hearing induction loop in the Meeting Room.

Baby-changing facilities

A table and mat are available to carers of either sex.

It is possible to use a room for a single meeting or for a series of regular meetings. Demand for lettings is heavy, especially on certain days and at certain times of year, so it is advisable to request bookings as far in advance as possible. Bookings for Saturdays should always be requested at least six weeks in advance of the desired date.

Charges

Rates are kept to the minimum necessary to meet the day-to-day running costs of the Meeting House and are among the lowest for rooms in central Cambridge.
